PD DAY PROGRAMMING

We offer optional full day care during scheduled PD days. Only those children currently enrolled in MAX Families After School Program are eligible to access this supplemental programming. 

When we are notified of a school PD day we will post the time slot in the booking calendar and open it for registration. If you do not see your schools PD day date in the booking calendar, contact us at regsitration@maxfamilies.ca

 

PD DAY DETAILS

• Full day programming will be dependent upon enrollment. If enrollment is low we will contact you 48 hours in advance. 
• Transportation is not provided during PD Days. You will need to drop your child off to us.
• On scheduled school closure days After School Program clients have the following options:
  • Register your child for the closure day by the deadline, drop them off to the closure site assigned to their school, and they can remain at the closure day site until 5:30pm if required. 
  • Register your child for the closure day by the deadline, drop them off to the closure site assigned to their school, and pick them up at anytime to bring them to their normal after school site anytime from 2:30pm until close.
  • If NOT registering your child for a closure day then you can drop your child off to their normal after school site anytime from 2:30pm to close. 
• All PD day programming will take place at our Salvation Army locations in Mount Pearl or Torbay Road. Review the table below to find out what location you need to sign up for. 
• We contact schools regularly to attain closure dates and then add them to our booking calendar. If you know there is a school closure coming up, but you do not see it in the booking calendar, please reach out. We are not responsible to notify families of upcoming school closures. 
• As a courtesy please email your site if your child is signed up but will not attend. We do NOT charge Late Notice/Transportation Safety Fees during Early Dismissal days.
• Your regular after school program site will be open at 2:30pm during PD days, if you wish you can drop your child off at that time. 

 

2024-25 LOCATION, SCHOOLS SERVICED & HOURS OF OPERATION

Starting in September 2024 there will be two PD day locations. Your child's PD day location will be dependent on which school your child attends. 

Torbay Road location will always remain open for PD days and will be the alternative location that's offered in the case enrollment is low at Salvation Army Church, Mount Pearl.

PRICING

$32 per day for one child

 

REGISTRATION

If you require full day care during school PD days you must register your child a minimum of 48 hours in advance of the start of the day. 

We cannot accept late registrations. 

Cancellation Policy: To obtain a full refund you must cancel a minimum of 48 hours in advance of the start of the day. Refunds will not be given past the 48 hour cut-off. 

 

HOW TO PREPARE FOR A PD DAY

• Send your child with morning & afternoon snack and a lunch. There will be three scheduled food breaks throughout the day. Food must be non-microwaveable. Check the PD day welcome email for specific food allergies (you will receive an email 24 hours in advance of the PD day).
• Proper outside attire appropriate for the current weather conditions.
• Indoor sneakers. 
• Electronics are not permitted.
